Jean-Claude Van Damme is 59 years old now, but he still has what it takes to play in action movies. He proved it in recent films like We Die Young (2019), The Bouncer (2018), and more. Van Damme went a long road by becoming one of the most beloved action movie actors of all time.

Desert Heat (1999)
Eddie Lomax (played by Van Damme) is a veteran sick of life and wandering across the desert on his bike. A bunch of thugs encounter him, beat him up, and steal his bike. But little did they know that leaving the job unfinished turned out to become their most fatal mistake. Eddie recovers and starts to pursue the robbers for taking revenge.
In Hell (2003)
This is not just another action movie with Van Damme, and that’s why it deserves a place on our list. In Hell is a drama presenting both a brutal and a sensitive side of Kyle, the character played by the legendary Belgian actor. Kyle was sentenced to prison after killing the one who murdered his wife. The guy has to deal with a very tough life in prison, where the inmates were often engaging in one-on-one and mortal fights. Being on the edge of killing himself at one point and doing his best to survive in other moments, Kyle is trapped between life and death and seems to have no immediate escape.
The Expendables 2
The Expendables 2 features the Dreamcast of many movie fans: Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Jean Claude Van-Damme, Chuck Norris, and more. Van-Damme is the bad guy here, as he plays Vilain, a guy leading The Sangs group.
The IMDb description says:
Barney Ross is approached by CIA man Church, who wants him and his guns for hire to go to the former Soviet Union to retrieve something that was on a plane that crashed. Church doesn’t tell him what he is getting. And Church sends a woman, Maggie with him to make sure he gets it. They find the plane and get the thing but some men take one of Barney’s people hostage and the leader tells him to give him what they got or he’ll kill his hostage. They give it to him but he kills his hostage anyway. Barney asks Maggie what was so important about that thing. She says that it showed the location of a Russian plutonium storage mine. Barney decides to track the man down and deal with him.
Kickboxer is over three decades old, but it remains one of the best movies with Jean Claude Van-Damme ever made. The movie is a majestic example of ambition, courage, and brotherhood. Kurt (Van Damme) is the corner-man for his brother, the kickboxing champion Eric Sloan. Kurt witnesses his brother become paralyzed in the ring by Tong Po, the Thailand champion. Kurt sees only one option: to take revenge for his brother’s condition. Kurt is being trained by Xian, a hermit and kickboxing trainer. The ultimate fight is coming: Kurt vs. Tong Po. Who will win in the end?
Bloodsport is another epic movie featuring Jean Claude Van Damme as the main character. It’s all about fighting in the ring in this production, as it resembles very well the story of Kickboxer. In fact, Bloodsport might actually have been the influential-movie of Kickboxer.
Jean-Claude Van Damme will also be appearing in The Last Mercenary, and who knows in what other upcoming productions.
