Along with the arrival of Windows 10 in 2015, Microsoft managed to bring a reliable browser to compete with titans like Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Its name is Microsoft Edge, and it came after the disastrous Internet Explorer that gave a lot of users multiple headaches. Edge has very useful features like the possibility of organizing research with Collections, working efficiently with vertical tabs, saving time with smart copy, and so on.
But learning how to deal with Microsoft Edge efficiently can be really challenging sometimes. The app has its flaws, and a recent one was occursing if a simple setting is made by the user.
Don’t set Chrome as the default search engine
Choosing the hugely popular Chrome as the default search engine was causing Microsoft Edge to crash as soon as the user types into the address bar. However, Microsoft investigated the issue and we have high hopes that things returned to normal. The company headquartered in Redmond stated:
Are you seeing Edge crash when trying to type into the address bar? The team is looking into it! In the meantime, as a workaround, please turn off Search Suggestions here: edge://settings/search. We’ll follow up once we have more!
After being firstly released for Windows 10 and Xbox One in 2015, Microsoft Edge came for Android and iOS in 2017, and ultimately for macOS two years later.
Microsoft Edge is just one of the multitude of popular browsers available out there: Chrome, Safari, UC Browser, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, and so on.
