We already know, thanks to rumors, that GTA 6 might launch on next-gen consoles, meaning that we would have to wait until late-2020 or early-2021 to see the next installment in the GTA franchise. Now, we have other bad news for the fans. Rockstar Games focuses on Red Dead Redemption 2 PC version, which might come out soon, and that could postpone GTA 6 launch even more.
GTA 6 To Come To Next-Gen Consoles
Is no novelty anymore that GTA 6 would skip PS4 and Xbox One gaming systems and launch exclusively on next-gen consoles, namely, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett (?). Next, the sixth installment in the franchise would also roll out on Windows and Google Stadia. However, we don’t know when will that happen because Rockstar Games is totally silent regarding GTA 6.
But, since next-gen consoles would launch in late-2020, we should expect GTA 6 to come out around that period or early-2021. Until then, however, Rockstar seems to have other plans, and it’s working on the release of other titles, including Red Dead Redemption 2 PC version.
Rockstar Working On Red Dead Redemption 2 PC Version Release
Red Dead Redemption 2 launched last year for PS4 and Xbox One. However, that unpleased some of the series fans who were hoping to play the title on PC. Rockstar Games announced back then that a Red Dead Redemption 2 PC version would eventually come out, but the devs offered no exact date.
Rumors coming from data miners revealed that we’re moving close to the announcement of a Red Dead Redemption 2 PC version. The data miners found clues hinting to that in some game files and inside the codes of the latest Companion App version.
Will Rockstar Postpone GTA 6 Release Date To 2021 or Later?
Considering the new rumors, Rockstar will first release the Red Dead Redemption 2 PC version. That could happen, most likely, in 2020. And since Rockstar has never announced to games in a short period one after the other, some fans presume that GTA 6 launch might be postponed even more.
Some insiders now suggest that GTA 6 would come out in 2021, but it could be late-2021. Until we receive something official from Rockstar, we can only rely on rumors and leaks, both of which might not be very accurate.
