Apple Prepares The Launch of a Foldable iPhone

With companies like Samsung, Huawei, and others releasing foldable smartphones in the recent past, there’s no wonder why another tech giant like Apple prepares a gadget based on a similar concept. The Galaxy Fold, Galaxy Z Fold 2, and Huawei Mate Xs are all powerful and nice-looking gadgets.

Leakster Ice Universe comes to support the idea of Apple working on a foldable phone. The source claims that the Cupertino-based giant is in talks with Samsung Display for foldable screen samples. Apple also “hopes to exclusively supply the amount for one year.” Previous reports are also stating that Apple has been working on prototypes for a foldable device.

Another reliable leaker named Jon Prosser revealed back in June some precious info:

Apple’s “foldable” iPhone isn’t really a foldable. ?

The current prototype has two separate display panels on a hinge.

Round, stainless steel edges like current iPhone 11 design.

No notch — tiny forehead on outter display that houses Face ID.

The same source adds:

The memes are funny — but it doesn’t look like they just stuck two phones together.

Even though they’re two separate panels, when the displays are extended, it looks fairly continuous and seamless.

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 from Samsung will most probably become one of the best-selling foldable phones on the market, and there’s no wonder why. The gadget features 5G connectivity, Android 10 and One UI 2.5 out of the box, video recording in 4K format, a 4, 500 mAh battery, 12GB of RAM, and a Snapdragon 865+ processor for the highlights.

Getting your hands on a foldable device requires to pull out some decent amounts of money. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 model costs around 2000 euros, the first Galaxy Fold model is worth about 1300 euros, and the Huawei Mate Xs is the most expensive: 2,500 euros. We’re eagerly looking forward to find out what Apple will bring in this area of foldable devices.
